A one-shouldered pale yellow, full-length ruffled gown by Jason Wu. The full-skirted dress had a strap across her right shoulder, a ruched bodice, fluffy appliques and sparkly beading.
Both the shape and the shade of the dress is a strong trend in Hollywood at the moment - seen on many stars at the recent Golden Globe Awards. According to tradition, the gown will be donated to the Smithsonian after Mrs Obama has toured all ten inaugural balls.
