Sydney Pollack was R.I.P
Sydney Pollack is a very talented man. He is an Academy Award-winning director, producer, actor, writer and public figure, who directed and produced over 40 films. He was born on July 1, 1934, in Lafayette, Indiana, USA, to a family of Russian-Jewish immigrants. His mother, Rebecca Miller, was a homemaker. His father, David Pollack, was a professional boxer turned pharmacist. His parents divorced when he was young. His mother, an alcoholic, died at age 37, when Sydney Pollack was 16. He spent his formative years in Indiana, graduating from his HS in 1952, then moved to the New York City.

July 1, 1934[1] - May 26, 2008. Just passed away from cancer.
Which one of his movies will you remember the most? I was a big fan of his work. I’ll never forget Out of Africa, and The Interpreter. He was also a very good producer, he produced Michael Clayton and Breaking and entering(Anthony Minghella’s movie). This year the film industry is loosing a lot of great artists.
And also, “Sabrina” (remake with Harrison Ford) and “Searching for Bobby Fisher” are the two that come most readily to mind.
